What is stool testing?

Stool testing is useful to determine the exact cause or causes of your digestive health issues.  Whether you have constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, or stomach pain.  This testing takes a close look at the function of your digestive tract.

This testing includes the following information:

Microbiology:
Good or bad bacteria or candida are living in your GI tract
Bacteria or Candida, how to kill them naturally (culture and sensitivity testing)

Parasites:
Which ones are present, if any

Digestion and Absorption:
Are you digesting your fats? your proteins? your vegetables?

Immune function:
Is your GI tract protecting you from foreign invaders?
Inflammation:  Do you have an inflammed area or ulcer in your GI tract?

Who needs it?

Anyone who has an issue with digestion or elimination.  Anyone who has “IBS”.

What’s involved?

Collect a stool sample for 1 to 3 days and send it to the lab.

How soon will I start to feel better?

Since this test is very specific, often the treatment takes care of the problem within a week.  Of course, there are many other causes of digestive issues to be addressed, such as nutrition, vitamins, stress, and water intake.

Are you suffering from gastrointestinal issues such as pain, bloating, gas, heartburn, cramping, IBS, constipation, or diarrhea?

Healthy Gastrointestinal Lining from a Macroscopic picture
Stool Testing gives us information about the function of the cells of the lining, the micro-organisms living there, the immune function and more.  These are all things that cannot be seen or understood with endoscopy or colonoscopy.
